Eze 33:12-16 
Therefore, you son of man, say unto the children of your 
people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not 
deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the 
wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the 
day that he turns from his wickedness; neither shall the 
righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day 
that he sins. When I shall say to the righteous, that he 
shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and 
commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be 
remembered; but for his iniquity that he has committed, he 
shall die for it. Again, when I say unto the wicked, You 
shall surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which 
is lawful and right; If the wicked restore the pledge, give 
again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, 
without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall 
not die. None of his sins that he has committed shall be 
mentioned unto him: he has done that which is lawful and 
right; he shall surely live.

This passage shows the nature of God.  If a righteous person
turns wicked, those previous righteousness will NOT save 
that person.  And if a wicked person repent, that person 
will be able to stand before the Lord.

In "Believe" [believe.txt], a case study was presented where 
a person was radically "Committed to Jesus" for a few years, 
and then, becames a deadbeat for a long time, i.e., over 
twenty years.  This person was saved during the first few 
years, and then, lost salvation by the end.  This is an 
example of a righteous person falling away.
 
If a person becomes a Christian and does righteousness for 
awhile, and then, turn wicked, that person will be in a hot
seat with God.  Receiving Jesus in the past will NOT save
that person.  It is where you are RIGHT NOW, not what you
did in the past.
