Eph 5:1-5 Be all of you therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becomes SAINTS; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this all of you know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. The focus is on verse 5, the last verse cited, where it states evil people will not have inheritance in the kingdom of God. Some says that applies only to unbelievers. WRONG!!! In verses 1-2, Apostle Paul is exhorting the Ephesian Christians to follow God. In verses 3-4, he exhorted them to avoid certain sins and DECLARED THEM AS SAINTS (in other words, he is writing to Christians). Finally, he states that these people whom are evil will not be in God's kingdom. It is "Once Saved" + "Commitment to Jesus" = "Always Saved" where "Commitment to Jesus" means - having an active faith, - living a life of repentance, and - obeying the Lord. A person, who is "Committed to Jesus", will shun sins and NOT be an evildoer. Hence, this verse (i.e., Eph 5:5) will NOT apply to that person. ********** All scriptures are from the Updated King James Version bible which can found at http://www.geocities.com/updatedkjv/ .
